The beginning of the year 2023 marks an important evolution in the governance of Ticket for Change.
10 years after initiating and co-founding the project, Matthieu Dardaillon, the current President, has decided to hand over the reins to embark on a year of exploration. The Board of Directors has chosen to entrust his missions to Joséphine Bouchez, co-founder, who has been appointed General Manager. She will be supported by Eric d'Engenières, Deputy General Manager, who will continue his role. The volunteer presidency of the association is entrusted to Eric Coisne, actively involved in the project since 2014.
This handover opens a new phase for the association, at a time when the mission to activate talents to accelerate the ecological and social transition has never been so important.
Find in this interview the crossed views of Matthieu Dardaillon, initiator and former president of Ticket for Change, Angelina Lamy, administrator, Eric Coisne, new volunteer president, Joséphine Bouchez, new general director and Eric d'Engenières, deputy general director.
It was 10 years ago, almost to the day. I was coming out of the Jagriti Yatra in India, with stars in my eyes and an incredible energy to bring out new generations of change-makers in France.
Ticket for Change was born a year later, thanks to an extraordinary team and truly extraordinary partners.
I am very proud of the path we have taken collectively. We have shown that it is possible to become an actor of change. And that this can concern each and every one of us.
From the train to the bus, from the Tour to the MOOC, from Ticket to Corporate for Change, from the direct impact to the systemic, from France to the international... Ticket for Change is definitely the most intense and excitingadventure I have ever lived!
A few months ago, I felt the need to step back. The desire to open a new phase of exploration. And so to hand over my current role.
I need to be empty, to take a step back and to take a long time to dig deep into certain subjects: the paradigm shift, the change of mentality, the transformation of the economy...
So I'm going to open a "fertile void" phase for a year. To regenerate myself, to inspire myself, to clarify the role I want to play next, to find new intuitions.
Throughout this year, I will remain close to Ticket in an advisory role, informed by my exploration.
And I think it's positive for the organization. That it's beneficial for leadership to rotate. That it's healthy to hand over at the right time. And this is the right time for Ticket for Change. The team is strong, the governance is strong.
This is a great opportunity to reinvent Ticket for Change, for even more impact.
"It's beneficial that leadership is turning, and it's the right time for Ticket for Change."
The Board of Directors is very confident. We have discussed with the team and for several weeks the new governance has been decided and has already taken the lead.
The forces are there, the people are willing and the Board is very serene.
Joséphine takes over Matthieu's role in tandem with Eric (d'Engenières) who manages the teams on a daily basis. And the volunteer presidency is entrusted to Eric Coisne, one of Ticket's memories, who will ensure the link and the coaching of Josephine and Eric.
Eric d'Engenières continues in his current role, which is completely natural as Eric has a primary function on a daily basis for all the teams.
The Board of Directors is very proud of the decision Matthieu has made. He will come back for the Ticket for Change community and for the company with a lot of ideas!
I feel very honored by the confidence of the Board to carry the vision of Ticket! I am very happy to take on this role because I strongly believe that our mission to reveal and activate talents to accelerate the ecological and social transition is more important than ever. The world has moved enormously in recent years, systemic changes are underway (and we can be really proud to have contributed to them with other actors!), but there is still so much to do!
It is also a new challenge for me after my many roles at Ticket for Change. I am happy to work on new subjects: long-term vision, external governance, institutional relations...
Finally, I have infinite confidence and immense joy in working with the team, the Board of Directors, the partners, and our beneficiaries to build together the world we dream of.
We have many challenges to face collectively: defining our new 3-year vision and where we want to make a difference, giving ourselves the means to achieve our ambitions by strengthening our business model, accelerating our work on systemic impact and mindset change in coalition with others...
I want to bring a mix of loyalty to the origins and renewal. Loyalty, because I am one of the co-founders and I have the values and the DNA of the company. Renewal, because I will bring new ideas, a new look, new intuitions and convictions, a new form of leadership...
During this transition, I received incredible support from the team, the Board of Directors, the members of our general assembly, and our partners. Thanks again to them. I have the feeling that I am in the right place, at the right time, and above all with the right people: this is priceless!
"I want to bring a good mix of loyalty to the origins and renewal"
My heart said yes before my head even thought about it. I say yes to great people with a great project. A project that has helped me transform my own life! Because, today, I have a career with impact, I have activated my talents!
What is important to me in my role as president is to see people grow, to have a happy executive and board of directors.
In this way, I want to bring trust, caring and high standards."
Personally, I am very pleased to continue with the missions that were entrusted to me in April 2020: the coordination of strategy and internal governance, and a strong involvement in financial management, human resources and development.
For the team, this handover between Matthieu and Joséphine was really the best way possible, with a perfect balance of serenity, enthusiasm and audacity. This is exactly what we need as we are defining our new 3-year ambition.
By passing on his role to Joséphine, Matthieu fully embodies the new type of leadership we support: enlightened, shared, benevolent leadership, attentive to helping others grow, which nourishes the desire to give one's best and strengthens the power to act.
"This handover is a perfect balance of serenity, enthusiasm and boldness"
